CREATE BEAUTIFUL PORCELAIN BUTTONS Workshop Monday, October 21st Create your own porcelain / ceramic buttons to use on your knitwear, clothing, and accessories. All tools and materials, including clay, glaze, cutters, texture tools, etc., will be provided for you to make up to 10 matching or unique buttons. No experience is necessary, only a willingness to have fun! The class will be held at Creative Corner Books, and completed buttons will be ready for pickup at the bookstore approximately 2 weeks after the class. The instructor, SOLVEIG COMER, of Most Precious Pottery, has been working in clay for over 20 years. She holds a B.A. from St. Olaf College and a certificate from the School for Professional Crafts at the Worcester Center for Crafts. She has taught at the Women’s Studio Workshop in Rosendale, NY, the Community Arts Network of Oneonta, and at her home studio in South Kortright, NY. Advance registration and payment is required. ARTFUL MENDING Workshop
Monday, September 23rd
Mending is about making things better. You can give new life to worn, torn, or stained clothing you might otherwise throw away, while letting your creative juices flow.
Bring at least one item — clothing, table linens, dish towel, or whatever else you want to beautify with mending — to work on. Learn about the Japanese boro tradition, Sashiko stitching, creative patching, darning, and other techniques of artful stitchery to repair and refresh your favorite things.

INTRODUCTION TO WEAVING Workshop 2 Sessions

FIRST SESSION:
Monday, August 12th - 6:30 - 8:30pm
This introductory two-session class will be taught by Barbara Gallagher on Ashford Rigid Heddle Looms with yarn from CeCe’s Wool Farm Store in Guilderland, NY.
At the first session we will warp a loom together, and then each student will start weaving a scarf. Students will take the looms home to finish weaving during the following two weeks.
At the second session, on Monday, August 26th - 6:30 - 8:30pm we will learn how to finish our scarves and remove them from the loom.
The Class Fee of $90 includes instruction, 2 skeins of wool, pattern, and use of the loom.
